Herbs at the Farm

Deepen your connection to the earth by following the plants as they progress through each season. Gather herbs such as yarrow, plantain, violet, and burdock from our cultivated herbal gardens, as well as from the wild.

We’ll walk, talk, harvest, and transform these herbs into practical, helpful products such as infusions, plant infused oils, salves, scrubs, creams, tinctures, infused honey, and herbal vinegars. Each product is based on capturing the essence of what the plant has to offer during that season.

Designed for the sprouting, as well as the established herbalist. Adults and teenagers welcome. Taught by certified-Herbalist Margo Mullein.

Say cheese!

Join Hawthorne Valley Farm's cheesemaker, Peter Kindel, for a series of hands-on workshops in home cheese making. Take individual classes or the full series.

Backyard Biodynamics: Holistic gardening on two acres or less

One of the beauties of Biodynamic principles is that they can be practiced on both a large and a small scale. This series of workshops offers a way for home gardeners and professional, small-scale farming practitioners to become acquainted with the methods and practices of Biodynamic agriculture.
