Spring Flower Walk: Floodplain Forest on Hawthorne Valley Farm

Join Claudia and Conrad Vispo from the Hawthorne Valley Farmscape Ecology Program in welcoming spring during a leisurely early-morning walk along the floodplain of the Agawamuck Creek and at the base of Phudd Hill. Learn to recognize our common and not so common spring flowers at different stages of their development, learn about their habitat requirements, and hear about their ecology and lore. All ages are welcome. The walk is free, but space is limited. Please register with Claudia Knab-Vispo via email or phone 518-672-7994. Consider staying on after the flower walk to see the opening ceremony for the May Day Festival at Hawthorne Valley School with the students’ performance of traditional dances around the maypole.
