Five Farmers Meet You at the Table: A Conversation on Sustainable Food Systems

Steffen Schneider, Hawthorne Valley’s Director of Farm Operations, is one of five featured panelists at Five Farmers Meet You at the Table on Saturday, March 29th from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at Westchester Community College. Sponsored by Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association and Westchester Community College, the interactive discussion will include topics such as the cost/benefit of a healthy food system, making connections and new relationships with food and farmers, and a call for community action.

Along with Schneider, other panelists are Jack Algiere from Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, Doug DeCandia from Food Bank for Westchester, Mike Fedison of Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center, and John McDowell from Rockland Farm Alliance. Author and educator Joan Dye Gussow will present closing remarks.
