Hawthorne Valley Farm Learning Center staff will come to your school and speak to your kindergarten through 12th grade class on any number of farm-related topics. This visit includes food from the farm to taste and a related hands-on activity. Before a visit, we work with the class teacher to design a theme that is relevant to the specific classroom schedule and curriculum; this is often oriented to local history and ecology and can include State Learning Standards.

Thank you for coming from so far away… I thought that it was really cool you brought that bread and honey. It tasted really good to me… and the wool from the goats, it is so soft… We learned so much about the farm! — Students from P.S. 116, Manhattan
Farm, Food & Fun Clubs
Hawthorne Valley Farm Learning Center can arrange with your school to offer students regular “Farm Clubs” during lunchtime. Working out of a classroom space, we provide students who have signed up for this program an opportunity to eat their lunches with us while discussing the farm and enjoying hands-on farm and food-related activities. These include stories, games, and simple cooking projects.FOLLOW US
